Your Capitol Bureau is a student-staffed news bureau. It covers the Legislature for 19 non-daily newspapers, seven radio stations and the Web sites of WMBB-TV and the Tallahassee Democrat newspaper. YCB has covered the Legislature for North Florida audiences since 2000.
The YCB reporters are seniors majoring in journalism at Florida A&M University's School of Journalism & Graphic Communication. Each student is assigned to cover the Florida Legislature for an individual Panhandle county. The student reporter writes news stories about what the Legislature does that directly affects citizens in his or her assigned county.
In this way, student journalists are watchdogs on the Legislature for citizens in the Florida Panhandle.
YCB students are taught by Dr. Gale A. Workman, a journalism professor who serves as Bureau Chief for Your Capitol Bureau.
