Guitar Hero

This is a picture from Bree Sison's News13 Blog

We are a funny bunch us WMBB kids. Our latest form of entertainment? Guitar hero. Check out Megan Albright rocking out. She’s actually really good. Me, not so much. In fact I got booed off the stage. Four times. But honestly I have no rhythm and never got into the whole video game thing. Mark Jenkins is truly great at the game and likes to hold it over my head. But it’s only because he plays guitar in real life. So it’s a Friday night and this is what we do for a good time in Panama City. I blame our lack of adventuring out into the city on being over-worked. We are usually drained by Friday.

Crazy week. I was at work on Tuesday from 8:30 in the morning until 11 at night. Thank you Cedar Grove. Wednesday was ridiculous. I didn’t get started on my story until nearly noon because of various meetings. Then I was expected to be live in West Bay at 5pm after having to shoot, write, and edit two stories. In addition to another small story I was sent to at 2p.m. Needless to say our weeks go by pretty quickly. Megan filled in on the morning show on Thursday (go Megan!) and just like the last time I filled in for Deanna, she was asked to do another story afterwards. So when you fill in mornings you have to be prepared to work from 4a.m. until nearly 7 p.m.

I tell you all this because our lifestyle is truly 1) addicting 2) exhausting. Luckily we’re all young and can handle the pressure. It’s nice to be with a group of people that are driven and have the same goals. We all center our lives around WMBB and at this juncture in my life I can’t imagine it any other way. Most of us kind of feel its the way life should be right now. I know that one day you will all be watching us on national television thinking how you knew us way back when.

Cheesy blog I know. But it’s what’s on my mind I suppose. Surprise surprise.

Cool stories from the past couple weeks to check out.... Kyle’s story about Dog Fighting in the Panhandle. Jessi’s story about Shooter Training at Elementary Schools. Mark’s story about State Road 79.

Beach tomorrow. Whose in?

About Me

I am a native of Chesapeake, Virginia. I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia in August, 2006. While there, I found time to be a cheerleader, a reporter for VCU Insight and the Recruitment Director for Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. I'm totally enjoying my life as a Panama City Beach resident and my job as a reporter for News13. Local politics just facinate me and I'd love to hear from you about anything.
