The more things change - the more they stay the same

Everyone here involved with the media is geared up for the Martin Anderson /Boot Camp trial. So far it has not devolved into a ‘media circus’.

You know how the kids have this abbreviation ‘jk’ for ‘just kidding’- well mine is ‘jc’ not just because they are my own fab initials, but it stands for my state of mind, ‘just curious’.

So---Have you ever read “Bonfire of the Vanities”? jc, of course…

I thought I would look at some other Bay county trials and see what they were like.

In 1920 two men associated with one of the lumber concerns in the north end of the county were involved with a killing.

This was commonplace at the time, but evidently someone knew something, because one of them was actually getting some of that high powered law from out of the county that we are treated to ever so often.

This item in the “Beachcombings” section could have been “ripped from today’s headlines.

More in the media reaction to this trial right here tomorrow.

About Me

I was born into the middle of The Strip in 1960s Atlanta, Georgia. I was educated in Fayetteville, Georgia and at Georgia Southern College (now University) in Statesboro. I moved with my family to Panama City, Florida in 1999. My two daughters and I have enjoyed exploring the beaches, the Downtown Library, and all of our neighbors' attics and cupboards. I think writing is like pulling teeth but I can't do anything else, and that... not too well. I love looking at pictures and especially old ones, so if you have any, send me a COPY and tell me about it and I'll share it with my readers. Tell everyone you know about this blog, and ya'll come back now, hear?
