Life’s little pleasures (and annoyances)
Jessica Foster and I had made a pact to drag one another to the gym for spinning class this morning, but we got there and neither of us could find a parking space. We both circled the lot about 4 times each before we gave up and went home. Talk about one of life’s little annoyances! So much for trying to get some fitness in… at least we had good intentions though.
The story Megan Albright reported last night was a very sweet one, about a couple who got married by cell phone while the groom was deployed in Iraq. He’s on leave for the first time since they got married, so they went for a “honeymoon” to Disney World, where he presented her with a beautiful engagement ring at Cinderella’s castle. Now that’s romance! sigh…
I spent part of the weekend exploring various wedding planning websites for ideas to go along with a cherry blossom theme. I’ve always thought the cherry blossom was such a romantic symbol. It doesn’t really concern me that I’ll be getting my seasons mixed up. I’ll still go ahead and use a cherry blossom theme even if my wedding will probably be in late summer or early fall. Isn’t that part of what weddings are about, is doing whatever you want in your own way? I think I’ve already found the perfect cake and invitation design, I just need to figure out exactly which colors I want. Planning is so much fun!
I’m excited because we’re kicking off Panama City Beach Relay for Life events! In case anyone is interested, I’m on the team recruitment committee, and we’d love to have more folks join us! We’re having an Early Bird event at Rock It Lanes on Beckrich Road on Tuesday, September 18, at 6:00 p.m. Bring your $100 team registration, and you’re set for a jump start on fundraising for April!
Also don’t forget about the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on October 6. That one is very important as well.
I suppose I should go brave the grocery store and run a few errands before I waste the day away. My excuse for being lazy is that today is my “Saturday” even though everyone else thinks it’s Monday!

About Me
I was born and raised in the hills of northeast Georgia, in a little town called Gainesville near the sparkling waters of Lake Lanier. My parents are Vietnamese immigrants who came to the U.S. more than 20 years ago. The sacrifices they've made for me to have a better life have made them my inspiration. I feel extremely honored that you've chosen to put your trust in me. I'm happy to be here in Panama City, and I look forward to getting to know you.
