It would really be great if your station, like the others would do a story on the $7 Million, the Anderson’s got. I would like to know how “well spent” this money has been done. Are they using it for children programs or buying nice things… Also since I have been with this story, it would really be nice to let the people listening to the news to know “ EXACTLY WHY WAS MARTIN IN THE BOOT CAMP”? Best of my recolection, you “NEVER” reported that, why not?

IT WAS VERY TRAGIC THAT A YOUNG MAN DIED , BUT TO SEE THE NEWSCAST TONIGHT MAKES ME ILL. THE ANDERSON’S HAVE MILKED THE MEDIA TO DEATH. THEY DID GET $7.MILLION FOR THE DEATH OF THERE SON. ARE WE FORGETTING WHY HE WAS AT THE BOOTCAMP IN THE FIRST PLACE. AND THE RACIAL REMARK AGAINST WHITE PEOPLE THAT THE “FRIEND” COMMENTED ON IS JUST THE BEGINNING. I AND OTHER CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTY ARE TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT IT . THE ANDERSON’S SHOULD LET THEIR SON REST IN PEACE.

THE YEAR 1908
This will boggle your mind, I know it did mine! The year is 1908. One hundred years ago. What a difference a century makes! Here are some statistics for the Year 1908
The average life expectancy was 47 years.
Only 14 percent of the homes had a bathtub.
Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone.
There were only 8,000 cars and only 144 miles Of paved roads.
The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph.
The tallest structure in the world was the Eiffel Tower!
The average wage in 1908 was 22 cents per hour.
The average worker made between $200 and $400 per year .
A competent accountant could expect to earn $2000 per year,
A dentist $2,500 per year, a veterinarian between $1,500 and $4,000 per year, and a mechanical engineer about $5,000 per year.
More than 95 percent of all births took place at HOME .
Ninety percent of all doctors had NO COLLEGE EDUCATION!
Instead, they attended so-called medical schools, many of which were condemned in the press AND the government as ‘substandard. ‘
Sugar cost four cents a pound.
Eggs were fourteen cents a dozen.
Coffee was fifteen cents a pound.
Most women only washed their hair once a month, and used Borax or egg yolks for shampoo.
Canada passed a law that prohibited poor people from entering into their country for any reason.
Five leading causes of death were:
1. Pneumonia and influenza
2. Tuberculosis
3. Diarrhea
4. Heart disease
5. Stroke
The American flag had 45 stars.
The population of Las Vegas , Nevada, was only 30!!!!
Crossword puzzles, canned beer, and ice tea hadn’t been invented yet.
There was no Mother’s Day or Father’s Day.
Two out of every 10 adults couldn’t read or write.
Only 6 percent of all Americans had graduated from high school.
Marijuana, heroin, and morphine were all available over the counter at the local corner drugstores. Back then pharmacists said, ‘Heroin clears the complexion, gives buoyancy to the mind, regulates the stomach and bowels, and is, in fact, a perfect guardian of health.
Eighteen percent of households had at least one full-time servant or domestic help.
Try to imagine what it may be like in another 100 years.
IT STAGGERS THE MIND!

Memorial Removal
I just want to say that I could not believe my ears when I heard that the memorial for this kid was going to be RIPPED up in 24 hours. Russell was very loved though I did not know him.. My daughter went to school with him and has been devistated by his sudden death. I also had a son that passed away suddenly 9 years ago. This memorial means more to those that it comforts that it does to those that just want to get RID of it.. Well Russell was a Brother, Son, Grandson, Cousin but most of all a Friend to teenagers that are still finding it very difficult to make any sense of this unbearable loss.. PLEASE THINK ABOUT THE LIVES THAT WILL BE CRUSHED. If this one is removed then ALL should be.

Accident Memorials
Please tell me what the deal is with ALL these “Accident Memorials”? I see them everywhere in this area. Do people here really drive that dangerously? There isn’t even snow and ice down here to deal with, imagine what the accident count would be IF there were snow and ice? Where I’m from we honor our dead in cemeteries not on the sides of roads. Please explain.

Rough riding Street
Something needs to be done on 11th Street, from Jinks Ave to Tyndall Parkway.
The Street is in bad need of repairs. It is almost like riding on a giant washboard
