Panama City, Fla. - Heart disease is the number one killer in America, but if you are aware of your risk, there are things you can do to help prevent heart problems. The American Heart Association has a Go Red Heart Check-up designed to give you a 10-year heart health assessment. Before you get started, you will need to know your height, weight, waist size, blood pressure, fasting blood sugar, and cholesterol numbers. If you do not know these numbers, you should ask your doctor. The Heart Check-up will tell you about your personal risk factors and will give you an action plan to help reduce your risk. The American Heart Association encourages everyone to discuss the results of the online Heart Check-up with a doctor.
