Queens with a Cause

Beauty queens are known for being beautiful on the outside, but one group of pageant winners is showing their inner beauty.  Queens with a Cause is an organization that raises money for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event.  Relay for Life is an 18-hour relay designed to raise money for research and cancer programs.

Robyn Parrish-Hill is the Director of Queens with a Cause.  She founded the organization when a co-worker was battling cancer a couple of years ago.  Now, queens of all ages raise money through pageant entry fees, bagging groceries for tips, and visiting area businesses.  The Queens with a Cause organization has raised more than $4,000 this year for the Calhoun-Liberty Relay for Life event.

One of their next fundraising events will be the 2008 Relay for Life Masquerade Ball.  It is a sem-formal/formal event that costs $20 per ticket.  The Midnight Masquerade Ball will be Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. - Midnight (EDT) at Veterans Memorial Civic Center in Bristol, Florida.  Call 850-557-3889 after 3:15 p.m. (CDT) for more information on this event.
