Bay County, Fla. - As temperatures rise, more of us will spend time outdoors. This puts us at a greater risk of skin cancer. The American Cancer Society says more than 10,000 deaths a year are caused by skin cancer. Gulf Coast Dermatology is trying to help the community detect skin cancer before it’s too late. They are offering free skin cancer screenings.
A cancer screening is painless and takes about 3 minutes to complete. A Dermatologist examines all areas of the skin typically exposed to the sun, including the scalp and legs.
The free skin cancer screening will take place on Saturday, June 7th from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the two Bay County Gulf Coast Dermatology locations. There is an office at 2420 Jenks Avenue in Panama City and 12111 Panama City Beach Parkway in Panama City Beach. Reservations are required, and slots are filling-up fast.
