One on One: Beth Holloway
Natalee Holloway disappeared in May 2005. The Alabama teenager was on a high school senior class trip to Aruba almost three years ago when she made national headlines. Her mother Beth, turned to the media to help find answers in her daughters disappearance. While a teenage boy admitted to some that he was with Natalee in her last hours, there have been no arrests.
The underwater crime scene unit from Florida State University-Panama City Campus helped with the investigation. That was one reason Beth Holloway came to speak to students and residents about her safe travels message.
Ms. Holloway says no one is safe if they don’t have a plan when they travel, especially young adults. She said everyone should experience trips at home and abroad, but should always plan ahead so they don’t find themselves in harms way. Her foundation has a website http://www.internationalsafetravelsfoundation.org and she has written a book to tell the story.
