One on One: Bob McKnight

Bob McKnight was elected to office as a young adult. He represented South Florida in Tallahassee at a time when the rules for politicians were different. He completed eight years as a public servant and voluntarily stepped out of politics. This was in the early 70s’ before term limits.

Today, the former Senator from Miami has written a book about his experiences. It is called “The Golden Years”.  Sen. McKnight was, and still is, a Democrat under the governing of Governor Rubin Askew and then Governor Bob Graham. Powerful Panhandle Senator Dempsey Barron was also in office at that time. Although both from the same political party, McKnight says they rarely saw eye to eye. In his book he talks about the legendary Panama City Politician.
