One on One: Lanny Donoho
June and July will be packed with teenagers on Panama City Beach. Not for spring break, but for Bigstuf Camp. Every week during the summer, approximately 1,500 students show up at the Boardwalk Beach Resort to attend the event. More than 400 churches and 11 denominations from 20 states bring their middle and high school kids to be a part of the program.
Lanny Donoho is the founder. He says the goal is to help students and adults alike leave the camp with a new or renewed vision to make a difference in the world. “We believe, he says, that being a follower of Christ means a lot more than just going to church on Sundays.”
Donoho also mentors college students with other adult leaders in a program that takes the message to Africa. The Bigstuf trips to Africa are part of another organization called the 410 Bridge. The camps in Panama City Beach host their own students overseas as they spread the word.
Donoho is also the author of “God’s Blogs”. You can check out his work at http://www.bigstuf.com or http://www.410bridge.org or http://www.lannydonoho.com
