One on One: Rep. Jimmy Patronis

State Lawmakers are taking a break, as they try to figure out how to cut property taxes. The House and Senate have different ideas on how to save Floridians tax dollars without breaking the state’s budget.  The session starts up again on Monday, October 22nd.

The Senate has a proposal to cut 11 billion dollars over four years, but the House wants deeper cuts to add up to around 14 billion in that same time frame.

Dist. 6 Representative Jimmy Patronis says both sides are working hard, but the House wants to give more relief to homeowners as well as renters and commercial property owners.  Lawmakers must come together before the month is over in order to place the issue on the January 29th ballot.
