One on One: Sgt. Jeff Becker

In the last two weeks, residents were robbed while getting money from ATM machines, and two local pharmacies were also robbed, reportedly at gunpoint.

What should you do if you become a victim of crime, or witness a suspect breaking the law?  Panama City Police Sgt. Jeff Becker says residents should pay attention to detail, and give the suspect what he wants. He says even if you carry a legal concealed weapon, you should never use it unless you are directly in danger. Leave that to law enforcement.

In your neighborhood, you can start crime watch groups to keep your homes and families safe. Most cities and counties offer programs. In Panama City, you can call Sgt. Becker at 872-7214.
