Punt, Pass & Kick Competition

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - The annual NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass and Kick competition was back at Tommy Oliver Stadium on Saturday morning.  Youngsters who think they can throw and kick a football further than their peers got the chance to prove it.

The Bay County YMCA hosted the event once again, but this time with help from a dozen local high school football players from Bay and Mosley.

The “experts” showed the kids the basics of the throwing and catching, and gave tips before on how get the best distance on their passes.

“My little buddy, he can do it,” Bay defensive end J.J. Baker said.  “He kicked it and I didn’t think it was going that far.  But he booted it and I was like he might have something here.”

The first-place winners from each age / gender group continue to the Sectional Competition hosted by the Fort Walton Beach YMCA on Oct. 22.
