The Renegade is for Everyone
PANAMA CITY- The Renegade Sports Complex is a dreamland for any athlete. Indoor soccer fields, basketball courts, skate park, volleyball courts and the list goes on.
All of these playing surfaces would be nothing without the players and leagues.
The Renegade is a great outlet for children and adults to become active from a recreational standpoint.
Two of the leagues to get involved with are the adult basketball league and adult soccer league.
“It’s a little bit different option than just going out and joining a fitness club. We have sports, and a lot of people use that for their cardio activity,” said Renegade sports director Carey Turner.
Some of the athletes come out to just take a trip to the past.
“This is a way to relive the old memories of basketball, being with another team again. Team camaraderie, we have good time out here together,” said basketball player Marcus Rosier.
“It’s a great activity to get in shape and just relive the glory days for the older guys and they just have a good time,” said Turner.
It’s all about having a good time, and the Renegade is just a perfect place to have that good time.
“It’s a great facility, we love it. The fact that it’s weather proof means that we can play it at any time. The courts are real good, the officials are great. It’s a great place all the way around,” said soccer player Jon Declerk.
“I like all the activities that are going on. I like the basketball of course, but we like to come out and see the soccer play, skate boarding, the volleyball, it’s just a happening place and we like to see people recreating,” said Jay Bidwell.
“You have access to several different basketball courts as well as weight lifting facilities. I think it’s something nice for the community,” Rosier said.
