One-on-One: Mark Bowen

Bay County is ready for Hurricane Season. Emergency Operations Director, Mark Bowen says the county prepares year round, instead of waiting until June to get a plan.

They have communication with area agencies and meet on a regular basis to stay in touch and informed.

Bowen says county leaders use all tools available when keeping an eye on a storm that may come this way. He says if evacuation plans are ordered, residents should head the warnings and leave town. He also says residents should have a plan of their own, now, not when a storm comes, so their families are safe.

He has a sample kit of items that every family should keep ready in case of an emergency. Click below to hear more.
