One-on-One: Jimmy Patronis

Amy Hoyt goes One on One with Jimmy Patronis

Dist. 6 State Rep. Jimmy Patronis is speaking out.  He says he isn’t sure a five million dollar settlement in the Boot Camp Case is the right thing to do, and he wants more details before voting for it.  Rep. Patronis says he feels the Legislature could be breaking the law by reaching a settlement with the Martin Anderson family before the criminal trial is complete.

On the issue of property taxes, Rep. Patronis believes a plan to do away with property taxes and increase the state sales tax would relieve the burden homeowners are currently feeling by the high taxes. But he is willing to take a look at a compromise between the House and Senate bill.  The Senate wants to roll back the property tax rate a few years to offer Floridians relief.

The Legislative Session ends May 4th. To hear more from Dist. 6 Representative Jimmy Patronis, click on the icon.
