One-on-One: Zane Spitzer
The Governor has named a Lynn Haven man as the replacement for Rick Barnett in the property appraiser’s office. Barnett resigned in April.
14 people applied for the job, but in the end 70 year old Zane Spitzer was chosen. The governor did not meet with each candidate, but in a news release, says he chose Spitzer for his managerial skills.
Spitzer spent 35 years in the military, both active duty, and reserves and was currently working as a financial expert for Applied Research Associates. He will be giving up that job to take over as property appraiser. Spitzer says he thinks the governor chose him to fill the 18 monhts left in the job, because he has no political ties.
