Bay Sweeps Arnold

PANAMA CITY BEACH - If Bay High School and Arnold High School didn’t know each other very well before Tuesday night.  Well, they do now.

The Marlins and Tornadoes basketball and soccer teams both met in crucial District 2 games.

On the beach, the Tornadoes were led by the emotion of senior Bert Reed, who scored 14 points in Bay’s 50-42 win over Arnold.  Reed hit a clutch three-pointer to give Bay a 38-37 lead late in the fourth quarter and the Tornadoes never looked back.  Jay Wade led Bay in scoring with 17.

At Tommy Oliver Stadium, Bay’s Scott Carroll scored two goals in the Tornadoes (12-1-3) 3-1 win over the Marlins on the soccer field.  Bay’s Jake Sostheim scored the first goal of the game of a rocket off his right foot.  Tyler Evans scored Arnold’s (13-7-1) lone goal.
