Cilbrith Wins Again!
SARASOTA - Thirty-eight-year-old light heavyweight and Panama City fireman Tim Cilbrith won a four-round unanimous decision over South Carolina’s Darius Carr in an entertaining battle.
Cilbrith (2-0, 1 KO) threw nothing but power shots throughout the fight. He mixed in uppercuts, along with hooks to the head and thudding shots to the body against Carr (0-1-1).
Carr tried to take the play away from Cilbrith, but Cilbrith found ways to regain momentum by forcing his will on Carr and moving Carr around the ring. Neither fighter appeared to be seriously hurt.
Cilbrith said he was fighting for the children back in his Panama City gym who need to find direction in life. Cilbrith also said his training was hampered for three weeks because of illness.
“I’m just thankful I did as well as I did,” Cilbrith said.
Cilbrith won 40-36 on all three scorecards. Florida Boxing News had Cilbrith winning 40-37.
