Blog: Vick should not wear an NFL uniform
I was a Michael Vick fan. I wanted the red No. 7 Vick jersey. After all, I am from Atlanta. Now I’m hoping that the “Dirty Bird” turns into the “Jail Bird”.
Vick has been indicted by a grand jury for dog fighting. Dog killing. I am a dog lover, so this really offends me. It’s such a cruel, heinous thing to do. Reports say that after the dogs fought, the losing dog would be electrocuted, drowned, hanged or had a bullet their head. Even if the winning dog was badly injured, it would get the same treatment.
C’mon Michael. Grow up. If you’re convicted, which I’m praying you are, you will spend up to six years in prison. I hope you’re in the slammer even longer. Just think how many NFL fans out there own a dog. Just think how many people hate Vick.
Vick’s first court date is July 26. That date just so happens to be the first on-field practice for the Atlanta Falcons under first-year coach Bobby Petrino.
Falcons’ owner Arthur Blank should just cut Vick right now. Yes, I do believe in “innocent until proven guilty”. But, you have to think about the team. Will it be possible for the Falcons to prepare for a game when their star quarterback has his mind bogged down on what he needs to do to be a free man?
This is not the first instance where Vick has embarrassed the franchise. He’s had several lately; throwing the ole “number one” finger to the home crowd, attempting to be 007 and pull off a secret water bottle operation in the Miami airport and don’t forget the Ron Mexico escapades.
Vick should not be allowed to wear an NFL uniform ever again.
