Lady ‘Fins Fall Short

PANAMA CITY - The Mosley Lady Dolphins fell just short from winning back-to-back District 2-5A Championships Saturday night.  Coach Steve Canfield’s troops lost to Leon High School 44-39.

Scoring was at a premium in the first half.  Leon led 16-15 going into the locker room.  Mosley senior Jessica Sowder’s playing time was limited because of foul trouble, she scored only three points in the game.  The Lady Lions contained the Mosley seniors, putting the pressure on the younger players.

In a losing effort, however, freshman Tanesha Middleton scored 15 points and added 6 steals.  Sophomore Sara Evans scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Mosley will play in the state tournament next Thursday night at Fort Walton Beach.
