Mosley’s Davis Commits to Auburn
LYNN HAVEN - Mosley’s Enrique Davis has become the second Bay County football player to verbally commit to an Southeastern Conference school.
This past weekend, Davis “surprised” Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville with the news that he will take his talents to Auburn next season.
Last week, Bay High School’s Bert Reed verbally committed to Florida.
Davis, standing 6-foot-one and weighing-in at 215 pounds, has scored 8 touchdowns this season and is just shy of another 1,000 yard season. He broke into the spot light last season rushing for over 1,800 yards and reaching the endzone 24 times.
“It’s a school I wanted to go to, more than any other school,” Davis said. “I already know I want to be a Auburn Tiger, I might as well go ahead and commit.”
Davis said that he had been getting phone calls from schools across the nation, but narrowed it down to Florida State, LSU, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Auburn.
After attending both the Auburn-LSU and Auburn-Florida games the past two weeks, Davis fell in love with the school.
“I got to see the experience,” Davis said. “The crowd, the hype, the atmosphere is just wonderful.”
