Pirates Net First Franchise Win!
PANAMA CITY BEACH- The Panama City Pirates are back home today, taking on the Nashville Metros. The Pirates are still looking for win number one on the year.
We pick it up in the 72nd minute of the game, Jimmy McHenry is weaving around defenders, looking downfield, and he finds CD Harris, a Panama City Native, who makes the beautiful header into the net, and then follows it up with a phenomenal back flip. Gives the Pirates a 2-1 lead.
Then to the 80th minute we go, Matt Watts boots it downfield to McHenry, who goes one on one with the Metro goalie, and McHenry makes him pay, curves it right past the keeper, and the Pirates have the lead 3-1.
The Pirates go on to win their first game in franchise history 3-2 over the Nashville Metros.
“Ah, that first win of the season, you know it’s great, especially to be at home with the fans and the crowd there and it’s great to get that first win at home you know. For us, you know we’ve been working so hard and going through some little adversities, so to be able to get that first stepping stone on forward, you know, we’re ready to build the house now,” said Pirate forward C.D. Harris.
