Work it Out!
PANAMA CITY- “I’m really proud of what all I’ve done and all of the support that I get here,” said workout participant Lori Eiland.
Lori Eiland has been involved with the total body workout at the Renegade Sports Center since September, and it has been a blessing for her since day one.
“Initially when I came here, I had lost about 28 lbs. To date, I’ve lost about 50,” state Eiland.
“This is about burning a lot of calories and having a lot of fun doing it. It’s cardio and strength in the same work out so you’re getting a double burn for your buck,” instructor Tammy Timmerman said.
Burning off calories is a mission a lot of people set at the beginning of a New Year and focus on with a lot of determination.
“It’s a life change. I’m looking forward to the New Year with changing even more. I have more weight to lose, so I’m on a mission and everyone here is really excited for me,” Eiland said.
“It’s not just about New Year’s resolutions, but it’s about being healthy and being fit in a family fun atmosphere all year round,” Timmerman said.
For some people, it might be hard taking that first step in the door of an exercise room.
“I was really intimidated before I came out here because I’d never been at a gym. I was really scared of running into all the body builders and the tiny women and the real elite of the gym, but I got quite the opposite. There’s a little bit of everyone, and there are a lot of people like me, their again on a mission,” said Eiland.
There is one thing that helps keep the people that are participating focused on their mission, music.
“The music is definitely key. It keeps you pumped up. So having good dance, techno, hip-hop music and stuff, it just helps keep you motivated through the work out,” stated Timmerman.
