Convicted Felon’s scam goes off without a hitch!!!!

Why aren’t the Dept. of Business and Professional Regulations more careful of who they issue a business license to.  Why doesn’t are local builder licensing dept. keep an eye out for abuses.  They actually do quite the opposite and don’t want to know or accept any responsibility for builder abuses and scams.  How sad is that?

Wouldn’t it make sense that a several time convicted felon with crimes of violence and dishonesty be very likely to slip into his bad habits and use these previous “skills” to advance his construction business?????

It is happening right here in Bay County and the people who are punished are the ones who try and stop him.  HOW IS THIS JUSTICE?????

That is a fact!!! There are not many skilled workers here anymore. The real money has left Bay county and moved to Walton co. I was a carpenter till my accident, but all the skilled guys I knew traveled to make a lot more money. Bay county gets the left-overs. Last I checked they didnt have one here, but that Alice’s list thing sounds like a really good way to find reliable local work. Might be something to look into starting here....

There is a ex-convict who works as a general contractor that gets away with unbelivable acts of dishonesty and violence.  His daddy he claims is “well connected”.  That seems to protect him.  His daddy has always made excuses for him and continues to cover for his bad behavior and the local authorities just seem to look the other way. Did I mention that his daddy is on a county board?  Could that be why he gets such royal treatment??  It just makes me sick to see the wheels of corruption spinning out of control!!

Gretel, you have captured my interest in your posts about a criminal working as a local contractor.

WHAT IS HIS NAME???  WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE BUSINESS????

If you don’t tell us his name, then you can’t warn others to stay away from him can you?

Here’s the deal on the Department of Business and Professional Regulations. (If I have it correct and I’m sure that someone will correct me if I don’t)
The construction lobby in the State of Florida protects contractors from complaints being made public unless action was taken by the agency.

Since the agencies generally brush aside complaints anyway, no action will ever be taken, therefore the complaint never ever sees the light of day.

DBPR doesn’t appear to do background check as you would be amazed of the criminals working as contractors.

The Bay County Building Dept in Panama City is real squeamish about anyone asking about why so many criminals in Bay County are given local business licenses by the county.

If a pedophile were to try and operate a daycare center anywhere, Bay County would be the place that they could acutally pull it off with the blessing of the county!!

There is a builder who works out of an office in Callaway that was in prison for close to eight years.  He has felony convictions of buglary and grand theft and is still at it.  I hear that he currently has some “grand theft backcharging scheme” going with some people he did work for.  There is also a rumor about sexual harassment with the same family.  Anyone have any more info??
