Digital TV

In Feb. 2009 all TV will be digital.
In the case that the power is out and cable/satallite is out, what option do we have to see WMBB emergency news/weather?

During Hurricane Ivan, I was able to use a small, battery powered TV to follow the progress of the storm.  Amy kept me company all night and it was comforting as the storm blew through, knowing where tornados were hitting, etc.

What good would an electric converter box do in a situation like this?

Other than staring at a weather radio all night, will there be one analog station kept open for emergency broadcasts?

This should certainly be a consideration with all the storms we have here in Florida.

I just bought my digital converter and my signal is weaker than ever before.  It breaks apart often and says no signal.  It is so aggravating.  Also for the sets that aren’t set digital yet, the sound is ahead of the other so you can’t have two on at the same time where you can hear them.  So much for progress.
