How do you feel about drilling in the Gulf?

I want to save on gas prices as much as the next guy.  But, is this really going to be a risk that we want to take?

I think we have to separate the potential ‘risk’ from the actuality of clean beaches.  There has been drilling in the Gulf as well as both coasts for many years now, and while accidents do happen, they are contained, and the waters renew themselves beautifully. The shock value of a major oil spill draws everyone’s attention for a while, much like an airplane crash.  But an oil spill is minimal when compared to the daily pollution that occurs in America’s waters and waterways.  Let ‘em drill, I say.  We’ll deal with the problems when they occur…...if they occur.

I say it won’t make a difference….It’ll just be more oil for the companies to put on the world market. More drilling doesn’t guarantee that the oil will end up in this country. Iraq has plenty of oil and money to give away in the streets. I say that’s where we should be getting it from.

I dream of the day when a nuclear power plant looms over Panama City!!!  I dream of the day when our local port is alive the the hustle of happy oil rig workers as they scurry off to earn money in the gulf.  I dream of the day I can drive my car without feeling like I am supporting a terrorist organization or an idiot like Hugo Chavez.  I dream of the day when our oil comes from American land, and not Arab dirt piles. Like Martin Luther King, I have a dream too!
