MAN WITH BRUISED EGO SEEKS REVENGE!!!

Dear Friends:

I would like your help with a situation that I need closure on before it consumes my life. I just don’t know what to make of it so please write in your thoughts I would appreciate a fresh perspective as I have analized it to death and still can’t make sense of it.

I hired a temp. employee and he seemed like a great find.  The interview was just A+ and I was thrilled to offer him the job.

For the first few months all was great.  He did everything that was asked of him, took care of any problem without complaint.

He made several attempts to earn brownie points as he would offer to do extra work “I just want to make you happy” he would always say.  What a great guy.  I would sing his praises to everyone and give him glowing references for his future employment as well as going out of my way to try and get job leads for him once his project with me was completed.

Then things started feeling a bit off.  He confessed that he was having financial problems and begged for pay advances.  He would always say “Haven’t I done everything you ever asked me to do?” The answer was yes.  Then he would continue with “Haven’t I done favors for you?” Again the answer was yes, so how could I refuse him in his time of need.  I was uncomfortable to hear about his financial problems but he had never given me a reason not to trust him so against my better judgement, I gave in to his reguest for a very large pay advance. I told him at the time that it was a one time thing and that I wouldn’t be able to do it ever again.

Oh he was so grateful and said of course he would never ask me again.
Things pressed on and he was such a happy camper for a few weeks and offered a few extra favors as he said to thank me for giving him some leads at his next temp. job and for a glowing reference.

I was a bit uncomfortable at this point to accept anything from him as he had already used his past “favors” to manipulate a large pay advance from me.

Soon after he came begging for money again.  I reminded him not again.  He laid it on so thick.  He told me how I reminded him of his mother and that no one could take care of a house or a man like me.  He was really creeping me out!!

I avoided him when ever possible after that and he became hostile and his work was suffering.  We were hearing from other workers how he was desperate for money again so I thought oh no what can I expect now?  More of the same??

Sure enough he came crawling with his hand out.  I reminded him that he was clearly informed that no more pay advances would be given.  He flew into a rage and said that I had taken advantage of him. He said “After all that I have done for you and this is how you repay me?” He made countless threats which I just said NO!!  Then he threatened to hurt my one and only love of my life.  So, I gave in and gave him another huge pay advance. I was afraid for my life and for my loved ones.

I tried to fire him but he had a contract and he threated legal action and other retaliation if I were to let him go.  I was afraid for my life much of the time.

I avoided him like the plague after that time and just had a count down to when his contract would be completed so he would be out of my life.  He had gotten his way twice before by using extortion, intimidation, leverage and threats of retaliation. I just knew that it was going to happen again.  I would just hold my breath every day waiting for the other shoe to drop.  Sure enough it did.

He found me alone one day and he was in a very depressed.  He claimed that he was extremely unhappy in his marriage and how his father never appreciated him.  He went on to tell me about affairs that his neighbor was having and made extremely intrusive questions into my personal life. He continued to tell me how much he had always like me and again how only me and his mom knew how to take care of a house and a man.  His wife was dumb and useless and other problems that were just weighing him down.  HE WAS REALLY CREEPING ME OUT TO THE POINT OF MY HAIR STANDING UP ON MY ARM!!

I told him enough is enough!!  My personal life is off limits and I left.  He became so violent that I hurried to get away.

The contract was near completion so I just prayed for the end to come peacefully.  I was not so lucky. 

He once again cornered me when he was informed that I would be alone and he threw a violent rage when I refused, OUT RIGHT REFUSED his demands for more money. He continued with the most vile language and repeated a couple of time “after everything I have done for you, this is how you repay me”.  The violence got to a level where I truly feared for my life I tried to leave but he had me cornered blocking my escape.  I continue to have nightmares to this date.  I called lawenforcement for protection and later criminal charges were brought against him. 

Then he retaliated by filing a frivilous law suit against me and I am watching my life saving go down the drain as I try to defend my self.  You remember all of those FAVORS???  Well, this is the basis for his law suit that I forced him to do extra work and won’t pay him.

I complaints that I have filed against him has resulted in more threats and retaliation.  At the mediation it was suggested to me that if I were drop the criminal charges against him then maybe he would let go of his bogus claims. 

I REFUSED TO USE THE ONE HOPE OF JUSTICE THAT REMAINS AS A BARGAINING CHIP. 

So the mediation failed and I now not only continue to live in fear but am forced to watch my hard earned saving go down the toilet and am completely powerless to stop it.

Jeeze, you got a lunatic on your hands there.... I am truly sorry for your troubles with this guy. People in general suck!! Not all of them, but most of them. 
That being said, this is the south, and I do have phone numbers.......
The legal system is now set up to protect the criminals more than the honest person. It is a shame, but legally there is not much else you can do.

Ever seen the movie Cape Fear?  Ok, My suggestion is Get your self a better Lawyer and Go after the Lunatic yourself. Make him Fear you. File a restraining order against him #1.  Hopefully you have records of all the $$$ you gave him.

Thank You so much for responding to my story.  No I haven’t seen the movie Cape Fear.  I am on my second lawyer already so.....I am trying to hold my ground.  LoneWolf asked if I have records of all the money paid out.  Yes, I paid exactly according to the written contract in full but he claims that he did EXTRA WORK that he wants to be compensated for and is using his bully lawyer to manipulate the legal system into collecting.

Here is something that keeps haunting me.  My husband and I had weekly meetings with this nut case that we hired and not once did he claim that he was due any extra compensation.

When he had me alone however he would remind me that he did “favors” for me because he liked me and then later on the day that he inflicted violence on me he claimed “AFTER EVERYTHING I HAVE DONE FOR YOU, YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING FOR ME!!I am going to sue your a.. and take everything.”

This doesn’t sound like some guy who thought he was due a bit more money it seems to me to be more of a bitter man wanting revenge!!

WHAT WAS I EXPECTED TO DO FOR HIM???? I am a homemaker with no income of my own.  Was it money that he was really after??? If so why didn’t he ever go to my husband??  The true answer to that question may creep me out but I want to know what you think.  I am new here and don’t have anyone to talk to expect for my new DEAR FRIENDS.

He is a piece of crap that preys on kindness and the expected weakness of others. He never said anything in front of your husband because your husband would have probably beaten the crap out of him. He is a school yard bully that needs to be put away so he can be taken down a notch or two.

Good luck with the lawyer, but I think you would get a bit farther with a private investigator. He might even find other victims who would testify against him.

Gow11 Thanks for your comment.  Yes I believe that there are other victims out there and I hope that this site may find someone who recognizes this story and speak up.  He has been in prison for grand theft and I think that he was also convicted on a burglary charge along with violence on women and law enforcement.  All my money is going to a lawyer to fight him so I hope that this site will shed some light on this nut job.  If nothing else I sure have found alot of nice people that I will continue to converse with after this situation is long past.  Thanks for your continued support!

Sounds to me like your story should be a lesson for us all.  First of all the temp program seems to send mostly sub-par workers anyway, and you have only yourself to blame for giving into to this idiot’s demands.  Anyone who would ask for an advance when they were already a temp employee is clearly not worthy of such generosity.  Feelings have no place in business, and while you may have felt bad for him it bit you in the end.  Money is money and he hadn’t earned it yet so why should have received it?  Learn from this and don’t make the same mistake in the future.  He should be in jail though because when he blocked you from leaving I believe that is considered unlawful imprisonment.  Either way good luck with this, and you may want to just, or perhaps get a restraining order.  Perhaps when Glenn Hess takes over after the election people like this will be kept away from decent Americans.

I don’t know anything about Glenn Hess but I do know that a change is needed.  I filed construction fraud charges on some ex-convict / contractor with a prior history a mile long but they do nothing. (I didn’t know about his past until it was too late) I point out statutes that were clearly violated and they do nothing.  What is with that.  What are the statutes for if they aren’t enforced??
