MHS asst principal arrest
Let’s see what some of you are thinking about the recent arrest of Brian Barnes, assistant principal at Mosley High School on drug charges. Should he be fired? He has by all accounts an excellent record, an impressive resume, and is thought of highly by students. Does he deserve another chance? Or does one mistake doom his career? Why, one wonders, couldn’t the cops—instead of arresting him on the spot—have sent a plainclotheman to his house, explain to him that they knew he had purchased marijuana in the past and that if it happened again he would be busted. A career would have been salvaged, a bright young rising star in the local education firmament would have presumably learned a lesson, and the winners in all this would have been the students that Mr. Barnes helps and inspires every day. So let’s hear what you think…

He will be fired and loose his teaching certificate. With our current drug laws, that is how it will play out.
The law is the law… He committed the No. 2 Cardinal Sin for a High School Administrator/Teacher - Drug Purchase and Use. On or off campus - who cares where it happned? He must go. The No. 1 Cardinal Sin is the first thing my recently graduated MHS son thought of when he heard Barnes had been arrested. Can you guess what that thought might have been? Now I wonder why that would be my son’s first thought??? Hmmm….
You refer to him as a bright young rising star. Being so bright he well knows that going down the dark road of drugs is the path of destruction. Not the kind of influence I want on my children!!
