Helping those on Medicare understand their benefits

There are over 48 million Americans on Medicare and less than 25% understand their benefits. Too many people believe that Medicare is the same as insurance. They are very wrong. An example would be the Medicare Part A deductible - Not once a year but up to six times a year. ($1024. x 6 = $6144.00)
After reading the “Medicare Survival Guide” the consumer will have a better understanding of Medicare. They will know when and how to enroll. They will also understand what the donut hole is, how to avoid it and how to get out of it. The reader will also learn how to maximize their Medicare dollar.
Our book is written simple, easy to understand language for the average consumer. Key points are repeatedly stressed so that the reader comes away with a good understanding of the issues. It is totally consumer focused and not affiliated with any government agency or third party provider. Our goal is to give the consumer the tools he or she needs to make well informed decisions about their healthcare that can have a great impact on their financial well being.
We are self published, independent. We are two moms that saw a need. We became frustrated because the average person didn’t understand Medicare. Worse than that they were paying costly penalites and expensive deductibles that could easily have been avoided.
Toni and I are an Oprah moment. We both have over 20 years in the healthcare and insurance industry. We met at a health fair in Cleveland, MS. Turns out we were had both recently moved to Cleveland from Texas. We lived several blocks apart but never met until January 2008. We said someone needed to write a simple guide. A few days later we decided that someone was us. The project took about 60 days.
